Our Story

Justin and Kristie’s story began with a message on Facebook.

One day, Justin came across Kristie’s profile and noticed something that stood out immediately. It wasn’t just her smile or how beautiful she was. It was the way she loved and showed up for her boys. Justin sent her a message telling her how incredible of a mom he thought she was.

Kristie later said it was one of the nicest things anyone had said to her in a long time.

That simple message started a conversation that would slowly grow into something neither of them expected.

At the time, Justin had recently moved to Dallas after previously living in Star, Idaho, while Kristie was still living there. Both of them had gone through difficult chapters in their lives and were cautious about letting someone new in. Kristie was hesitant at first, wanting to be careful and protect herself and her family.

But Justin continued to show kindness, patience, and sincerity. Over time, trust began to grow.

Eventually, Kristie agreed to meet him in person.

Their first meeting happened in Las Vegas at the Fontainebleau Hotel, where Justin had invited her while he was attending a roofing industry expo. Ironically, they never even made it to the expo.

From the moment Justin saw Kristie in the hotel lobby, he remembers thinking how beautiful she was. Her smile lit up the room, and he quickly realized that the intelligence and warmth he had seen in their conversations were even more present in person.

During that first date, Justin looked at Kristie and asked her a question he still remembers clearly.

“Do you feel the same way I do? It feels like this is something extremely special.”

Kristie smiled.

From that moment forward, they both knew they were building something meaningful.

Because Justin was living in Dallas at the time, their relationship began with a lot of travel back and forth between Texas and Idaho. The distance never made things harder; if anything, it made them more intentional about every moment they spent together.

Both Justin and Kristie had experienced heartbreak in the past. Those experiences shaped them, but they also gave them a deeper understanding of love, resilience, and the kind of partnership they truly wanted. Through the highs and the lows, they always chose to support each other and grow stronger together.

Family has always been at the heart of their relationship. Justin quickly developed a deep love for Kristie’s three boys, and some of their favorite memories together involve adventures with them — from trips to Malibu where they explored Venice Beach and visited the Supreme store, to taking the boys to their first concert together in Idaho to see Kaleo.

Life with Justin and Kristie also comes with a little humor. One of their favorite ongoing jokes is their very different personalities in the morning. Kristie wakes up full of energy, optimism, and excitement for the day, while Justin takes a little longer to become human. The contrast keeps life interesting.

On Christmas at home, Justin asked Kristie to marry him. She suspected it might be coming someday, but not necessarily that day. When he asked, she said yes.

What Justin loves most about Kristie is how deeply she loves the people in her life. She is incredibly attentive and will do anything for the people she cares about. What makes their relationship special is the way they support one another, challenge each other to grow, and share a deep commitment to their family and the life they are building together.

They are excited for the future — to achieve their goals, raise their family, help others, and build an outrageously happy life together.

And it all started with one simple message.
